Compress PDF to 100 KB, 200 KB or less
Shrink a PDF for exam forms, job portals or email. Pick a strength, or ask for a target like "under 200 KB". Your file stays on your device.
Good to know
How does it compress?
Each page is redrawn as an image at a lower resolution and quality, then rebuilt into a new PDF. This works best for scanned documents, photos, certificates and mark sheets, which are usually the files that are too big.
Will text still be selectable?
No. The compressed file is image-based, so text can't be copied or searched. If you need selectable text, use the original or the Light setting with care.
Is my file safe?
Yes. Compression runs inside your browser. The file is never uploaded to any server.
Which size should I choose for exam forms?
Check the form's limit first. Many government and university portals ask for documents under 100 KB, 200 KB or 500 KB, so use Target size for those.
The result is bigger than my file?
That happens with PDFs that are already small or text-only. In that case, keep your original file.
Compress PDF to a specific size
Most upload portals give a limit like "PDF must be under 200 KB". Tap a size to set the target, then add your PDF:
Reduce PDF size for any upload
- Exam and job forms: mark sheets, certificates, caste and income certificates, and ID proofs for SSC, UPSC, NEET, JEE, state exams and job portals.
- College and scholarship portals: admission documents and scholarship applications that limit each file to 100–500 KB.
- Email and WhatsApp: shrink large scanned PDFs so they send quickly.

Common questions
How do I compress a PDF to 100 KB?
Choose Target size, pick 100 KB, add your PDF and tap Compress PDF. The tool lowers image quality step by step until the file fits under 100 KB.
How do I reduce PDF size on my phone?
Open this page in Chrome or Safari on your phone, choose your PDF from Files or Downloads, and compress. No app is needed and the file isn't uploaded.
Can I compress a PDF to 50 KB?
Yes, for most one- or two-page scanned documents. For long PDFs, 50 KB may make the text hard to read; try Black & white for a smaller file at the same quality.
How do I compress a PDF without losing quality?
Use the Light setting, which keeps the most detail. If your form gives a size limit, use Target size with the largest limit allowed.
Is it free? Does it add a watermark?
It's completely free, with no sign-up, no watermark and no limit on how many PDFs you compress.
