Tips for a clean scan
- Put the page on a dark surface, like a table or bedsheet, so the edges are easy to find.
- Use daylight or a bright room and avoid your own shadow on the page.
- Fill most of the photo with the page. A slight angle is fine; the scanner straightens it.
- Choose Black & white for handwritten notes and printed text, and Clean scan for certificates with colour stamps or photos.
- For forms that need a small file, set File size before saving. To compress an existing PDF, use Compress PDF.
Scan anything to PDF
- Assignments and notes: scan handwritten pages into one clean PDF to submit online.
- Certificates and mark sheets: get a straight, scanner-quality copy for exam and job forms.
- ID proofs and receipts: crop and clean up a photo so it looks like a real scan.
A free alternative to installing a scanner app: it works in your phone's browser, and your photos are never uploaded. If the PDF is too big for an upload form, compress it to 100 KB or 200 KB.
Common questions
How do I scan a document to PDF on my phone?
Open this page on your phone, tap the camera button and photograph the page. The scanner finds the edges, straightens the page and makes it look scanned. Add more pages if needed, then save as PDF.
Can I scan multiple pages into one PDF?
Yes. Keep adding pages, reorder them, and save. All pages go into one PDF.
How do I make a scan black and white?
Choose the Black & white look. It gives the cleanest, smallest file for text documents and handwritten notes.
Do I need to install an app?
No. It works in Chrome or Safari, so there's nothing to install and no sign-up.
Is it safe to scan ID documents here?
Yes. Everything happens in your browser and your photos are never uploaded to any server.
